The weather’s heating up, it’s the longest day of the year and it’s time to plan an exciting list of activities for the next few months.

 

What better way to while away a weekend than at a motoring event? There are plenty to choose from, catering for the motorsport fanatic to the classic car enthusiast.

 

We look at some of the motor events happening in the UK this year. It’s time to buy your tickets now!

 

JULY

 

First up this month it’s the pinnacle of events with the Formula 1 Rolex British Grand Prix at Silverstone, July 5-8. It promises to be a weekend of exhilarating racing at one of the world’s greatest sporting events. http://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/2018-formula-1-british-grand-prix/

AUGUST

 

If supercars are more your thing then The Supercar Weekend at Beaulieu in Hampshire on August 4-5 is a must-attend event. See displays of prestigious supercars and hear their distinctive engine notes as they unleash their horsepower on the demonstration run. CarFest South returns to Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire on August 24 -26 for another round of entertainment. SEPTEMBER

If you’re more at home in a Land Rover than a racing car then the Land Rover Owners (LRO) show at the East of England Showground in Peterborough will be up your street. Billed as the biggest and best Land Rover show it will be a weekend surrounded by 100s of Land Rovers, 1000s of land Rover parts and a weekend full of entertainment. https://www.lroshow.com/

 

There’s still usually plenty of sunshine in September so The Big Welsh Show on September 16 is sure to be a hit and for the second year running, it will be held at Chepstow Racecourse in Monmouthshire. OCTOBER

 

The Wales Rally is being held three-weeks earlier this year from October 4-7. Set at various stages across Wales, many of the classic forest tests around Aberystwyth will now feature as part of a jumbo 'Super Saturday' bill in mid-Wales. The show moves back to north Wales on the Sunday with a new street stage around the Great Orme and down into Llandudno for an exciting finish along the seafront. https://walesrallygb.com/spectators/ticket_information.php

 

If you fancy a European trip, then this year the world’s motor manufacturers will show case the latest models at the Paris Motor show. The Frankfurt and Paris shows alternate every year and this year Paris will host the event which is expected to attract more than a million visitors making it the second largest motor show after the Geneva motor show. NOVEMBER

 

What better way to round off the year than with the Classic Motor show at the NEC in Birmingham November 9-11. Join classic car enthusiasts and view more than 2500 iconic classics cars and motorbikes.
